EXECUTIVES
 

Chair: Marianne Noh, PhD

Marianne Noh is the Chair of Directors, Woori Maum. Dr. Noh is a published author in various scientific journals and has presented her research on Korean Canadians in both Canada and the United States. She is a contributing author in The Other People: Interdisciplinary Studies on Migration, and a co-editor of Korean Immigrants in Canada: Perspectives on Migration, Integration, and the Family, the first collection of social scientific studies on Korean Canadians. As the current chair of Woori Maum, and a board member of Arirang Age-Friendly Community Centre, Dr. Noh is highly committed to promoting health, equality and well being in the Korean Canadian community. She is also the owner of Dukes and Daisies Weddings & Events.

Director of Communications: Aileen Song, student at University of Toronto

Aileen Song is an undergraduate student at University of Toronto who works towards raising awareness about mental health within the Korean community in the Greater Toronto Area. As a former competitive short track speed skater, she herself has experienced mental health related issues due to the nature and pressures of her sport. She is motivated as the Director of Communications to ensure that Korean Canadians who may be struggling with mental illnesses receive the help they need. She's currently studying Linguistics and Cognitive Science and is working as a Research Assistant. Aileen aspires to become a Speech Language Pathologist after her studies. 

Director of Programs: Harriet Kim

Harriet Kim believes in challenging the harsh stigma around mental illness and in advancing safe and equitable spaces to create and share alternative narratives. As Director of Programs, Harriet strives to support community engagement in the mental health conversation by organizing meaningful, holistic, and community-based programs.  She currently works at University of Toronto Press as Editorial Assistant and at the Stop Community Food Center's farmer's market. She holds a MA in Human Development and Food Security and BSc in Water Environment and Ecosystems.

Director of Administrations: Ga Hye Erica Jeong

Ga Hye Jeong is a graduate of the University of Toronto. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Immunology and Fundamental Genetics. Ga Hye started as a student volunteer for the booklet translation at Woori Maum in 2015, and continued her involvement through Youth Mental Health Day, Inaugural Fundraiser, and Woori Communal Table. As the Administrative Director, she she would handle and manage documents, the timelines and budgets of committees. She would also be conducting due diligence over other directors and keeping the board on track with it’s responsibilities and timelines.

ADVISORY BOARD
 

Lead, Advisory Board: Linda Yoo, MPH

Linda Yoo is the Lead Member of our Advisory Board. She has been involved with the Korean Canadian community for over 10 years. She holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto and has additional training in counselling. She has over 10 years of work experience in the mental health and addiction field. Currently, she is working as the Constituency Manager for the Office of Ali Ehsassi, Member of Parliament for WIllowdale.
